About the BDD Project
We are finally on the threshold of being able to bring excellent quality
drinking water from the Rio Grande to serve the City of Santa Fe and Santa
Fe County in a way that will provide a safe, reliable and sustainable source
of water.
The Buckman Direct Diversion (BDD) Project is an important part of our regional
water supply and will increase the diversity and flexibility of our
water supply portfolio by:
- Increasing system reliability
- Increasing system redundancy
- Increasing operational flexibility of the system
- Providing a better opportunity to optimize our operations
- Providing a better opportunity to blend sources for water quality
